Lambing Club 2007
The lambing club will be in it's
seventh year and we have been asked by some members for clarification
of the conditions.
The lambing club runs from the 1st
January to the 30th April (although we can change this to suit your
lambing dates.)
There is a one off upfront payment -
currently £150 for more than 200 ewes and £120 for less
than 200.
Work included
This figure covers all the work done on any ewes or lambs seen between
7am and 7pm at either Westmorland Veterinary Group or Tithe Barn
Veterinary Centre surgeries. It includes caesareans and post
mortems.
Not included
The cost of any laboratory work.
The cost of any drugs used.
The cost of surgical packs.
Visits and out of hours
If we visit the farm during the 7am to 7pm period,
there will be the normal visit fee but no other costs for sheep work as
above. (Out of hours visit fee is the normal attend charge plus
£6.52)
Calls at either surgery between 7pm and 7am will be charged a
£16.64 call back fee.
Weekend calls at either surgery between 7am and 7pm will have a
£5.44 call back fee for lambing club members (normally
£16.64).
We hope this clarifies the situation, if you have any queries please do
not hesitate to contact us.
Pre Lambing Planning and Advice
We also have an additional service for members of the
lambing club. We can visit your farm to talk about your approach
to this busy time of year. The art of lambing a sheep has not
changed for hundreds of years, but there are some newer thoughts on
reducing lambing losses.
The visit will involve a look around the lambing area (if indoors,
although if it is a bonny day, we'll bring our walking boots) and a
talk through what you want and need in the way of equipment and
drugs. If you can provide a list of known drugs and equipment we
can bring those out for you at the same time.
If you would like to take up this option please let us know.
There is no extra charge for this service (including no visit fee).
