PRE-OPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS

These instructions are intended as a guide to what you should do to best prepare your pet for a procedure.

Feeding
The last meal should be given no later than 7pm the night before the appointment.

Water
Fresh water should be available until the morning of the appointment.

Dental Work
If the vet has recommended your pet needs some dental work, it may involve extractions, as it is often impossible to see damage to teeth until the tartar has been removed when your pet has been anaesthetised. If one or more extractions are necessary, they will be done at the time.

Cats should be kept indoors from the evening before the day of the surgery and given access to a litter tray.

Please give your pet a chance to empty their bowels andbladder on the morning of the operation.

Please bring your pet to the surgery between 8 30am and 9.00am on the operating  date.

Allow 10-15 minutes on the morning of admission, so the nurse can discuss the operation and check over your pet.

If you have any worries or are concerned about the cost, please ring the surgery or speak to the nurse on your arrival.

Pre operative checks usually require a 5 minute appointment which should be made a few days before the oepration date.
